Lucinda Williams’ crew reached out to me one cold and rainy October morning. They had a show in town (Chicago) and they were having issues with one of their amplifiers...
A handle. A very VERY nice handle. finally! In my amplifier designs, I spend hours-weeks-months-years searching for specific parts that ultimately make up the whole. Not only do my amplifiers need to sound as good as they do or be as reliable as they are, they need look and feel a certain way.
The venerable Bryston B28B Cubed monoblock (one amp per speaker) power amplifiers. Weighing in at 93lbs each and putting out 1000 watts into an 8 ohm load and 1800 watts into a 4 ohm load! Headroom! Customers, upon hearing of the magnitude of power, discount their usefulness as “too powerful” for their needs.
Schroeder Amplification is a family business. I created this business at a young age and I built it from “the ground up”. Years of working 70-80 hour weeks with a seemingly endless energy, stemming only from my sheer passion for all aspects of music and it’s creation.
