The Well-Tempered Synthesizer by Walter Carlos: A Guilty Pleasure I think we can file this album, "The Well-Tempered Synthesizer" by Carlos Walter, under the “guilty pleasures” tab. While I’m not a big fan of modern synthesizers or early baroque music, this odd mixture of genres kinda hits the spot. The analog synthesizers with their fat sounds add an ominous texture that brings me back to my love for this music which started with Clockwork Orange. I’ll also admit that the album “Bachbusters” spent more than a few hours in my CD player when it came out. A bitter sweet day. Sweet in that the working prototype for DB7 number one, which I created so many years ago, is coming back home to be a part of my musical life. Bitter in that it’s returning to me because of the passing of a dear friend. I’m honored to have this back in my life for a few reasons.
