The Pretenders at Chicago’s Riviera Night Club, known to Chicagoans as “The Riv”.
There have been a few moments in my life when someone has entered the room and I could feel the “charge in the air”. This was one of those times. An older Chrissie Hynde @chrissiehyndemusic walked out on to the stage, complete with her signature black leather and “Chrissie” hairdo, and proceeded to positively OWN the room. A force to be reckoned with and a thrill to witness. The music was straight-up Pretenders. Legit! On another note, Chrissie Hynde’s latest solo album “Valve Bone Woe” has been in regular rotation on my table since I bought it. A departure from the Pretenders which is full of fresh ideas, musicality, and arrangements. Worth a listen if you get the chance!
