The idea for the Dr. Feickert Analogue Woodpecker Turntable was inspired by customer inquiries for a more traditional deck.
Many think of a turntable as a wooden box, a platter, and a tonearm, and that‘s it. The Woodpecker embodies Dr. Feickert's idea of a more traditional design but loaded it with the high-performance of their previous record players.
The mission for the Dr. Feickert Analogue Woodpecker Turntable was not simple. Take the performance of their time-tested, tried-and-true models and transfer it into a traditional record player chassis. After many refinements, Feickert discovered amp; a way to get the correct interaction of only one mass layer with the chassis. Concurrently, the focus was on "ease of use“ with features like the sliding arm base with a pivot-spindle scale. This approach allows you to change tonearms within a couple of minutes (the sliding base allows you to mount nearly all available tonearms from 9 up to 12 inches).
The result - timeless elegance meets excellent sound. Refining their well-proven bearing design, platter, and high torque motor, Feickert bettered the virtues of their previous models in a compact chassis!
