We are Devo!
The very first album that I heard, then set out to buy, was Devo’s Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! I’ve been listening to it since 1978 and it still gets me going. When I heard that Devo was going to be playing a show at Chicago’s “The Vic” theatre and that they’d be playing the “Are We Not Men?” album in its entirety… I NEEDED to see the show. As it turns out, I needed to see both shows… The first night, the show started late as there we issues with the video projection system. Ultimately the decision was made to go “on with the show” sans video trickery. They came out in plastic yellow suits and tore the place down! Every note in place with all the energy. I could not have been happier. A tear or two of joy may have been shed… The second night they played the entire “Duty Now For the Future” album. Life is rich!
